Savage Lacrosse, or Lidell Booysen, is a 15 year old that lives in Northern Virginia. Lidell's life is lacrosse. Eat, Sleep, Breathe Lacrosse. He began playing in 7th grade when he found this beautiful sport through his friend who played. He was interested and decided to try it, now he has a stick in his hand at any time.
How did Savage Lacrosse, or Lidell, get into stringing? Lidell got into stringing after he got his head strung by a local stringer when I first started to play. The head was a Brine Clutch Elite X strung with a Corner Pocket. I was amazed by the look of the stringing and tried to figure out how to do it. I decided I was going to learn how to string and be like my local stringer. One day I went to Dicks Sporting Goods and picked up a Reebok 10k and a piece of hard pink mesh and volt strings. I strung it up and was impressed. I made a lacrosse stringing account on Instagram called LIDELLLAX and began to post my stringings. They were horrible but keep in mind I was still learning. I continued stringing and learning and came to a plateau in my career. I didn't understand the knots and theories required to string, so I took a break.
When I came back I understood stringing better and began posting again. I changed my username to DiamondLacrosse and tried to forge a new beginning. It wasn't working so I continued to try to learn and get better and finally I understood everything pretty well. I got pretty good at stringing after about a year of stringing ( since mid 2013 ) and changed my username yet again to my current username.
Savage Lacrosse was born. I got a lot of positive feedback and criticism from a lot of very good stringers. I got even better after doing some research and posted some photos. One day I reached over 100 likes on my photo and knew this is just the beginning. I kept learning and studying the art of stringing and here is where I am now. I have made great friends through my stringing business throughout the years and I am thankful. I am also thankful for everyone who helped me along the way and kept pushing me to be better. But I am not done. There is much more to perfect and a lot of time to do so.
I get asked a lot about how to be successful as a small stringing business. My answer is simple, keep striving to do better even if you think you did your absolute best, there is always room for improvement.
Respectfully,
Savage Lacrosse (AKA Lidell ) (AKA Lid) AKA Sav).
